What Is The Residents’ Level Of Satisfaction In Assisted Living?

Mass-ALFA recently conducted a voluntary survey of residents and families in approximately half of the Commonwealth’s certified assisted living residences. The results showed high levels of resident satisfaction in Massachusetts’ resident focused approach. Residents valued quality of life factors above all others in determining their satisfaction with an assisted living residence. Highlights of the report include:

• 91% of the residents agree they have control over what they do
  
  
• 96% agree they have privacy when wanted
  
  
• 95% of the residents feel safe and secure at their assisted living residence
  
  
• 94% agree that their rights are respected
  
  
• 87% are very satisfied or satisfied with the quality of life at their assisted living residences and would recommend their residence to a friend
