Maxine Krengel, Ph.D. Dr. Krengel opened Mass-ALFA's Annual Dementia training in September 2009 and received rave reviews!  Mass-ALFA is pleased to have another opportunity for Dr. Krengel to share her insights, strategies and poignant (and entertaining!) stories about the challenging topic of managing difficult behaviors of those with dementia and especially, Alzheimer's disease.

Dr. Krengel is a Neuropsychology Consultant at the Boston University Neurology Associates, Inc.  She is also the President of the Massachusetts Neuropsychological Society.  Dr. Krengel has extensive experience evaluating individuals with dementia and trains practicum students, interns and post-doctoral fellows in the differential diagnosis and treatment planning for Alzheimer's disease.  She also has a private practice dedicated to assisting those with different types of dementia and family members with newly diagnosed neurologic and dementing disorders.

Her education includes a BA in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island and PhD from SUNY, Albany, NY.  She interned at the VA Boston Healthcare System in Geriatric and General Neuropsychology and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at McLean Hospital and Boston University Neurology.
