Most disasters are unexpected, but with a little preparation our response to them can be quick, thoughtful, and effective. This webinar will discuss a variety of simple and easy-to-use tools that can turn a disaster into a manageable disruption.

Using an internationally accepted five-phase model for disaster planning as a framework, this session discusses how to incorporate a variety of technologies into your residence’s disaster response and security plans. The new "cloud computing" model will be explained along with some of its pros and cons. The webinar will include a review of the several free or very low cost tools available via the Internet cloud-environment, as well as a number of some of the more traditional disaster management technologies.

The session will end with a peek at a few emerging technologies that hold great promise for our industry.  Throughout, emphasis will be placed on the practical application of these offerings and the resulting benefits which include improved safety, shorter periods of disruption, and a better image for your residence and operation.

Attendee Takeaways:

• The structure and components of a disaster response plan;

• The integration of new computer, communications, and security technologies into their residence’s disaster response program;

• A comprehensive survey of many of the new "cloud computing" tools now available on a no or low cost basis;
